What does success mean to you?

Success means different things to different people. And the definition of success also evolves with time. To me, success means being able to make a difference in the lives of the people and help them become great leaders in their field of work. I feel blessed that to date, my books are helping millions of people globally to recognize and overcome their leadership challenges, and to become successful in their field of work.

Why did you feel the need to familiarize the world with your idea of the written word?

I’ve observed a common pattern amongst people. Most people in the corporate and business world know what they want, but do not know how to get there. To fill this gap, they read business magazines and apply techniques they find on public domains, hoping to get great results. But at the end of the day, most people end up feeling frustrated with their results because they’re following outdated methods of succeeding.

My leadership books give people the blueprint to become better leaders and be successful. They’re a roadmap that shows them how to get to where they want. Anyone who reads these books will get a glimpse into the rituals and practices of some of the most successful leaders I coach and know their secrets to becoming the best version of themselves.

What, in your opinion, is the most pressing problem of today’s times? And how can these books help address it?

The most pressing problem is that the majority of people I talk to are working more than ever to survive in today’s uncertain market. I also believe we are in an age where abundant information on success is readily available. In America alone, we spend close to eleven billion dollars on self-help products, which include seminars, training, books, and motivational tapes. These trends suggest that a majority of people in the world should be successful today. But the statistics tell us that only one percent of the world population is successful. In general, only twenty percent of an organization's workforce does eighty percent of the crucial work. So, what about the remaining people? Let me tell you, most people are working hard, upgrading their skills, and doing what it takes to get there, yet the needle doesn’t move significantly for many. If information, ideas, and positive thinking were all that was needed, everyone would be happily fulfilling their dream and goals. Instead, it’s imperative to hone skills, set direction, and use the information you have, correctly. And my books help the reader navigate through all this and more.

Through my books, I aim at helping more people in the world become successful at what they do.

Who was your inspiration behind penning these books?

Honestly, it’s the people like you and millions of others who inspire me to move forward. When I hear stories of people who have become successful using my “insider” techniques and how it has transformed them into world-class leaders, I feel inspired to give more and serve more. Nothing gives me greater joy than seeing people rise up. My drive to help people learn how to be world-class leaders is what even got me started into book writing. I’ve made it my mission to help people become successful in life by teaching them the importance of a leadership mindset. I feel my work is most rewarding.

Do these books help someone who is just starting out in their career? Or are they aimed at a more corporate audience?

The books are for anyone who wants to be a great leader and succeed in their industry. It’s for people who want to make a difference in the lives of others. It’s for those who want to see great results in their life.

In your opinion, how will both these books help shape the leaders of tomorrow?

For one, people will be able to move ahead with speed and serenity because as leaders both are needed to succeed. Secondly, they will master the art of being antifragile which is a very important leadership skill. Third, it will help leaders to think big and achieve more.

Leadership is all about being unstoppable. My books are all about helping people become that unstoppable leader and develop what I call the “ antifragility” element that helps them to become the best version of themselves and deliver the best results regardless of their title or the economy. As a leader, your goal is to be the very best you that you can be. You’re competing against yesterday’s you, each and every day.

Is there anything that would aid the lessons that your books aim to cultivate?

I post a lot of resources on my LinkedIn and Instagram. I host my podcast called The Payal Nanjiani Leadership Podcast where I have some of the world’s best leaders come and share their tips of leadership and success. Alongside, people can reach out to me with their leadership questions through my #Askpayal page.

Additionally, they can sign up for 1:1 coaching sessions to help them speed up their growth.
